In this four-hour intensive workshop, we'll be taking portrait photos of our professional model, followed by some guided editing in either Lightroom or Photoshop. This workshop is limited to 4 particpants, so please register early!

For the first half of the workshop, we'll cover using speedlights and light modifiers indoors, and how to position the lights for good effect. Each student will have one or more opportunities to direct the model and position the lighting. Important elements concerning styles of lighting and posing will be discussed as we progress through the shooting segment of the workshop.

In the second half of the workshop, we'll select one photo from all of the shots taken of our model, and we'll go through the key elements of portrait development in Lightroom and/or Photoshop, learning professional tips and techniques for developing our shots for a great look. We'll discuss color and black & white treatments, as well as how to effectively sharpen critical areas, such as the eyes, and at the same time maintain smooth skin tones.

The last hour of the workshop will be used to allow each photographer to select one of their own shots to work with, using the techniques we learned previously to edit the shot.

There will be a short break between shooting and editing, so bring a drink and a snack!

You must have a digital camera, preferably a DSLR or MILC (no phones or compacts, please), and a computer with an up-to-date version of either Lightroom CC or Photoshop CC installed.
